Defining YOUR own success

Top of the hour, to everyone!

I hope that everyone had a restful weekend and the week is looking promising.  Thank you to
everyone who read the post on listening to your inner voice.  I am so humbled to hear that it spoke to so many of you.  That is the point of Lo's Notes, it is meant to encourage and have you to either continue or create the life you were born to live.

A psychologist friend of mine asked me, "what does success look like to me? " At that time I had really been working at what success looks like for ME.  It looks different for everyone.  I wanted to clearly define it for myself because I always wanted to be in a place of growth and peace around success.

I replied to her questions with, " success to me is when I love what I do, I can share it with others, and I can replicate it."  Once you define what success looks like for you, you can stop making other people's meaning of success dictate your life and this perfectionist syndrome which has defined your view of success.

This week everyone has a homework assignment from me. Journal what your definition of success is to YOU.

Then, share what success looks like for you  with me and the people in your inner circle.   Remember success is not about balancing everything, no one is looking for wonder woman or superman. Success is about the journey and less about the destination.

Til next time, remember to live, love & share.

Peace, blessing and much success (the way you define it)!

Get out of your own way

I am really growing all.  I don't remember when I realized this but I started to become really conscious of the fact that I talk myself out of my blessings (raise your hand if this is you).  What I mean by this is that I would say, "if it does not work at least I tried" or "if I don't get it now may be later".

God does not give you the idea without Him seeing you through.  He provides a way when there is non.  He will send the right people alongside you.

So why do we default to blocking our blessings?  Most people let fear of the unknown talk them out of their blessings. Any time you have an "if" when pursing your purpose you negate your blessings.  You are no longer living in creativity but now you are living in doubt.

I can find very many examples in my own life were I have allowed fear to derail me from being creative and experience joy in my pursuit of my purpose.  In essence you are either in fear or in faith. God does not give you the spirit of fear.  When pursing your dreams it requires faith.

When we pursue whatever God as called us to do, it is our outward expression of our trust in God.  When you fear you are saying you don't trust Him.

What is one area in your life you have talked yourself out of your blessings?

I pray this post leaves you to live, love and share over the weekend!

See you next week.

Your Highest Calling

It has been a while since I have been posting.  Life has been happening; I am sure you can relate.  I turned a year older (wiser)... I really don't mind and have found a couple of gray hairs.

This is what I know for sure...

I have heard the saying that, "Life is what you make it", well it is true!  I have been on this quest for living my true purpose.  I use to say I was on a quest to find my true purpose.  Then, I realized after I find it...then what!? In the mist of searching I have discovered that we really can have what we aspire and desire.  It might look differently for all of us.  We need to learn to never compare our journey  with others.  It leads to disappointment.  Each of us has a different purpose and journey.

If you take your time to figure out what your passion is it will lead you to your life's  purpose.  It takes TIME.  It is a journey.  Remember that  it is a marathon and not a sprint.

One of the things that I realized is that you have to take the time to listen to your heart, and start making choices that are moving you closer to your passion.  Everyday you are making a "passion sacrifice".

Since I started this journey, I have gotten something so beautiful out of it. I have learned who I want to be!  I am becoming more  and more clear who I want to be in this world. I am pushing myself from "doing" to "being".  What I mean by this -- is I want to live a life with no regrets, enjoying the process, encourage others that it is never too late to live your life's purpose, celebrate others, and live with clarity and intention.

The doing is thinking that I was put on earth to be a good teacher, raise children, and get married.  Many of us fall into this trap.  Instead, the being is that I want to live my highest calling and contribution to this world.  My being is empowering women through the conversation of beauty and health.

What is your highest calling?

See you again on Thursday!  Remember to live love & share.

The Roller Coaster

Chasing your purpose is not always easy (I know from experience).  There are going to be times that you are faced with challenges that are not foreseen, emotional highs and lows, and sometimes disappointments.  One thing I know for sure is that you:

1. You need to write down your purpose and goals-  This is because you don't want to get distracted from what keeps you dreaming and working relentlessly.  When you are faced with life's challenges take out the paper you wrote down your goals and look at it, then use that to motivate/encourage  you to continue your journey.

2. Surround yourself around people that can help encourage you.  Someone you can confide in. This persons is someone who is going to tell you the truth.  You should be able to find solutions with this individual.

What I am learning is that I want to know that everyday I am working towards something that is going to make a difference and celebrates my passion.

Remember to live, love & share

Stepping into your greatness

This year part of my goal is me stepping into my greatness.  What does that mean?  It means me not doubting my capabilities, telling myself I am not ready yet or comprising.  I have so many great ideas that I want to capitalize on. I go and tell my family, then I quickly talk myself out of it.  Have you ever had these nagging feeling about your ideas, which keeps the wheels in your head turning?  I have them all the time.

What I have learned about one’s greatness is:

1. It is a gift from God
2. You are born for this
3. Anything is possible

How do you step into your greatness:

1. Renew your mind
2. Put it on paper.
3. Do not get attached to the outcome but get committed to the process
4. Research what kinds of skills and the people you need to help you reach your greatness.

So, no longer am I in 2014 going to say “I can" but  I choose to say “I will”.   I am going to have a different spirit about my greatness and not only am I going to speak it into existence but start to live it.  The conversation of I need to wait until this happens, in order for me to walk into my greatness will no longer hinder my today.  I can start to live out my greatness now!  I need to start to look for the people who are masters in this field.  Read books around my greatness.  Continue to learn more about it.  Most of all, not be afraid to start!

Can you relate to my experience?  What is one thing that you will do this year to move you closer to your greatness?
